In addition to using Macleans Advanced to protect your teeth’s enamel, we also recommend adopting a 2 x 2 brushing regime:
- Brush your teeth twice daily for two minutes each time
Brushing for two minutes allows time for fluoride to be absorbed by teeth for enamel strengthening. It also helps to remove more plaque.

BRUSHING AFTER MEALS?
At school we were always taught to brush after every meal. This is not strictly correct!
Tooth enamel is at its most susceptible to wear immediately after eating or drinking, because the acids in foods temporarily soften tooth enamel. So brushing at this time can cause enamel wear. Remember, brushing should be left until at least one hour after meals.
DOES HARDER BRUSHING MEAN BETTER CLEANING?
Many of us feel the harder we brush or the harder the bristles on our toothbrush, the better the clean. In fact, vigorous brushing and the use of a hard bristle toothbrush can wear away tooth enamel more than a gentle toothbrush and moderate brushing. So choose a soft bristle toothbrush and brush moderately for two minutes.
